after the storm

The end of this week was nightmarish. We were watching Prison Break in large quantities in the evenings and at the same time the 'do everything for your family' theme was getting truer than ever. It turned out grandma's surgery needs to be postponed due to lack of available blood supplies. We could donate blood ourselves (0Rh+), and so we did, to give her priority in receiving the required amount for the surgery, but the problem was: there was no blood of her group (0Rh-) in the blood bank at all. With an incredible help from our friends (special thanks o Ider for extraordinary efficiency!) we reached people who had her blood type and wanted to donate it and help save her life. We couldn't be more greatful... The surgery finally took place on Friday and as for now she seems fine and stable, however the outcome is not yet sure. The doctor, this time a very compassionate and understanding one, told us not to make her play a clairvoyant. She can tell us about the here and now and doesn't want to confirm anything too far fetched just to let us hang on to it frantically. It was fair. Right now we can just wait and hope. And I have a feeling the worst is past us.

The essence of your mind is not born, so it will never die. It is not an existence, which is perishable. It is not an emptiness, which is a mere void. It has neither color nor form. It enjoys no pleasures and suffers no pains.

Your end which is endless is as a snowflake dissolving in the pure air.
