today i made some thorough cleaning up. 16 months' dust. went through my desk, office mobile, PC memory, kitchen cupboards... threw away loads, kept just a few things, still have to collect my fav mug and everybody's business cards. asked girls if wine and cake would do for a tuesday good-bye party - told me to forget wine and buy vodka. i know i'm gonna miss them! somehow i feel they're more open now that i've told them why i'm leaving. i feel they see the same weaknesses in our bosses, especially in the way they manage the agency but perhaps their prospects are brighter than mine. in the afternoon i went to meet the hr director at my future agency and signed the preliminary contract. i'm starting next thursday.

I did it!!! :-)

It's official! I'm starting next month, will have it on paper after this weekend. A so much better job, a slightly better wage and finito with self employment. Can't say how happy I am and how much the scream of happiness wants to spread out of my chest... Love you all for those fingers crossed!

Viktor & Rolf in design collaboration with H&M

The design duo Viktor & Rolf and H&M are pleased to announce their collaboration for the autumn 2006 season. Viktor & Rolf, known for their high concept fashion shows and modern twist on classically tailored clothes, will design a collection of women's and men's wear to be produced and distributed by H&M.

The one-time collection will be available at selected H&M stores on all H&M markets across Europe, North America and the Middle East. To be launched in November 2006.

Hope I'll like what I'll be seeing this Fall.

(beyond) disruption

After all it looks like much awaited changes in my job are coming. It's still too early to celebrate, but well, I'm not afraid to write about it, so it can give you a clue...

I've been feeling this hopeless stagnation at work for months now. Took up the post-graduate studies, but those only helped the impression grow. Although I tried to persuade myself into sticking to my current ad agency (still remembering the bad after-taste left when I was leaving work for the first time - a lesson well learnt), all rational signs tell me that it cannot be a place to work my way up or learn more. Not in a longer perspective (and in those 16 months the perspective has shrunk considerably). The new blood the agency just got may help, but at the same time it only makes it easier for me, knowing that my leaving shouldn't be an issue. I'm ready to get back into the workaholic mode if that can buy me the feeling that my time at work isn't wasted. I just hope my luv won't disagree.
